Tay's Tweezing Tips!

Hey everyone!

I just want to quickly mention that I by no means consider myself some kind of eyebrow professional, I'm just sharing tips that I find work best for myself. Lets get started!

  • Fill in your brows in the desired shape and thickness before tweezing, to avoid over-plucking and wonky brows.
  • Your natural brow shape is typically what suites your face best- so don’t try to change it too much! Simply clean up around the edges and fill them in for a face-framing, polished look.
  • Don’t use a magnifying mirror- you want to be able to see your whole face and both brows during the process. Lean in of course to get a better view when you pluck a hair, but use your regular make-up or bathroom mirror.
  • Go back and forth. Don’t fully clean up one brow then move to the other, go back and forth between to get the best symmetry. Do remember- brows are sisters, not twins!
  • Help cut down on pain by tweezing in the direction of the hair growth. Doing so helps to ensure the hair is removed with the least amount of pain, rather than pulling in the opposite direction and possibly breaking the hair, making it more difficult to remove.
  • Maintain. Do your best to keep brow maintenance in your regular routine, rather than letting it go and having a much more difficult mess to clean up.
  • If you choose to get your brows done professionally, choose carefully! I recommend going to a place that specializes in hair removal rather than a hair or nail salon that does brows on the side. This is great for beginners as it takes out some of the work, and then you can maintain them yourself a home!
  • I personally prefer slanted tweezers, I find I can get the closest with them versus a flat tweezer, and honestly the pointed ones just frighten me! I recommend Tweezerman tweezers, I own a pair myself and they are not only top quality, but will last you ages. They’re available here at Sephora in a lovely variety of colours.
  • Lastly- don't panic! Brows do grow back if you feel you've over-plucked a bit. Many brands also make serums to help with brow and lash growth, such as MAC, which I plan on testing in the upcoming months.
Happy Tweezing!

Welcome to the blog life!

Hellllooooooo!

I see you've stumbled upon my blog. I'm just getting started- I'll be posting first impressions, in-depth reviews, product announcements and more! As an "about me"- to be brief- I'm currently employed with a certain Cosmetics Company here in Waterloo. I was hired close to a month ago, and have decided to stray from my original career path as an Early Childhood Educator and join the beauty community. It's been my passion for years, so why not make some cash off it, right? I'm 18 so I still have tons of time to learn, but like many of you here, I'm sure, I've been watching beauty video's on YouTube like some sort of addict, so I feel confident enough in my skill and experience to share my opinions with you! Hopefully one day this blog will build up to be something like Temptalia, who by all means is a beauty blogging queen!

Let the blogging begin!
